a Summary, etc The main aim of the study is to point out the applied mistakes in economic policies of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) since 1974. Selection of tourism as a locomotive sector for 27 years caused a bankruptcy occurrence in agriculture sector, which in the study mentioned as the most important sector. The study supports the idea that if there is a need to choose a locomotive sector for TRNC economy; this is agriculture; not tourism. Also the study analyses what are the costs created in TRNC economy by applying Tourism as locomotive sector and by rejecting the importance of agricultural sector.
